I love it. The former forum mod in me fears the affect it will have, but, well, it's going to be great.

OK, hmm, pick a forum. Ah. I gave up on forums ages ago. Except new ones run by loons, of course...

It occurs to me that if games of Troll and Grammar Fascist were played on the same forum at the same time then it would inflate the scores in both games.

The Trolls post, making lots of mistakes. The Grammar Fascists correct them, both scoring points themselves and giving points to the Trolls.

Oh God... It would be like a self-perpetuating firestorm that would engulf the whole board. Smile

I have recently been accused of playing both Troll and Grammar Facist on a forum. So it's not only possible to play them both on the same forum, but in the same post.

If I catch anyone doing it here, they're so banned.

And I'm still pissed off that you don't get Troll points for being called Hitler.

Why would anyone try it here? Everyone knows the rules (I think), so it wouldn't be any fun.

My favourite typos have to be 'eneyway' and 'optomin'. Madness.

I loved this sequence in that thread:

MoM: dude. learn to type. one or 2 errors is fine but this is ridiculous.

I'm at the point now where I don't ever comment on people's grammar or spelling. If it's so bad that simply reading it raises my blood pressure I ignore the post. If it's chronic I ignore the poster.

I'm a recovering grammar fascist. Smile

could we have a special forum put aside for grammar facists and troll-spotting?

or maybe a real-time guide to the best Troll & Facism Forums of the day.

Troll-Watch etc...

That's not a bad idea... although it might look a bit too much like laughing and pointing at handicapped people. Smile

Not really. Handicapped people generally can't do anything about their inabilities. This is not an excuse that I'm willing to accept for poor spelling and grammar. If you can use a computer at all, then you have the capacity to use language properly. Therefore, failing to do so is your own damn fault, making you a perfectly valid target for mocking. Hopefully we can even shame some people into improving their writing skills, which can only benefit humanity as a whole. (Hitler, for example, was a poor writer, and look what became of him!)
