This game concept amused me. Does that make me a bad person? I think it does.

It occurs to me that one could manipulate the Ball by engaging it in engaging conversation and then stepping away from the Ball toward the line. If one is engaging enough and one's partner is effective at the more othordox methods of Ball control that could be quite effective.

Indeed, one could try a more extreme method where player 1 inflicts a particularly drunk and unpleasant form of conversation on the Ball while player 2 makes eye contact with the Ball of the "let's move away from this lout over to, say, there!" variety.

Bloody hell, you're right! There's a whole variety of social manipulation tactics that could be used over and above the class body language methods.

Worth to consider if the inclusion of girls on teams would render the game broken. Smile

Depends on the quality of their charms, I presume.

And possibly the gender of the ball.

And also sexual orientation. A gay ball could behave completely different in play than a straight one.

But with the danger of removing one of your own players from the game.

Must...find...occasion...to...try...

Speaking as a girl, I never really considered the idea of not includng myself in the game...

What would be the ruling if the ball should touch a player? Like, if you are using the bait and switch technique of repulsion by one player and attraction by another, and the ball reaches out to touch the attraction players arm (or, in worse cases, punches the repelling player in the face)?

Points lost, or just a hazard that you have to deal with?

Penalty. You should have dodged.

I don't understand why you couldn't play this in a more casual setting like in a bar or club. With all the variables of different players and balls all ready talked about I think playing in a bar would speed the game up. Makeing it more fast pace forcing the players to try new tacktics. With the atmospher (music, loud conversation and heavy amounts of drinking) you could not only use the same ball (if the ball is drunk enough not to be aware of his surrounding) but you could celebrate touchdowns. It would seem less odd to break out in a touchdown dance in a bar. There is no point in scoring if you don't get to celebrate.

Hey, you want to try it then by all means have a go. Just don't blame me if you end up laying face-down in the alleyway outside with the remains of a beer glass hanging out of what you used to term your "face". Smile

The game would still have to be covert. I am not saying that playing in a bar or club gives you the right to be an ass you still have to have some tack it just allowed the players a more agressive game. Twisted Evil
